Das System on Module / Computer on Module VAR-SOM-MX8M-PLUS basiert auf einem 1,8 GHz Quad Cortex™-A53 NXP’s i.MX 8M Plus-Prozessor mit einem Echtzeit-Coprozessor 800 MHz Cortex™-M7. Dies ist eine neue Prozessorgeneration, die Befähigung der integrierten künstlichen Intelligenz (KI)/des maschinellen Lernens (ML) mit erweiterten Multimedia-Funktionen kombiniert.

Der SoM umfasst eine dedizierte neuronale Verarbeitungseinheit (NPU), ein intelligentes Bildverarbeitungssystem, das auf einem Bildsignalprozessor (ISP) und zwei Kameraeingängen basiert, sowie fortschrittliche Multimedia- und Konnektivitätsfunktionen wie H.265 HD-Videokodierungs- und -dekodierungsmodulen, fortschrittliche 2D/3D-GPU, Sprachverarbeitung, zertifiziertes Wi-Fi 6 Dual-Band 802.11ax/ac/a/b/n Met BT/BLE 5.3 en optioneel 802.15.4, WLAN, Duales GbE, duales USB3, duales CAN-FD, PCIe, bis zu 4000 HDMI, duales LVDS und DSI-Display-Ausgang.
